Hi John,

I know you’re probably busy, but I wanted to make sure you saw this email
from my colleague Alia.

The stakes couldn’t be higher: COP30 is the moment when governments must
commit to new climate finance and concrete steps to triple global
renewable energy by 2030. Without this, we risk missing our last chance to
prevent the worst impacts of the climate crisis.

And right now, instead of stepping up, too many governments are doubling
down on oil, gas and other destructive paths. That’s why it’s so important
we send campaigners to Brazil — so our demands for a fair, liveable future
are heard loud and clear.

I’ve pasted Alia’s full email below with all the details. Thanks for
taking a moment to read and act.

John -

In just a few weeks, I’ll travel to Belém, Brazil, for COP30 — the world’s
biggest climate talks. The decisions made there will shape global climate
action for years to come. That’s why we need to be in the room.

But here’s the challenge: while we’re preparing to bring frontline and
community voices to COP30, hundreds of fossil fuel lobbyists are also
booking their tickets to Brazil. They’ll be there pushing their
destructive agenda — and unless we show up in force, they’ll drown out the
demands for real climate justice.

The good news: 350.org is going to send climate activists to COP30. Our
goal is to make sure we can amplify the voices of Indigenous, traditional,
and frontline leadership, and demand that world leaders commit to:

* Tripling renewable energy in a fair way;
* Rapidly phasing out fossil fuels, starting now;
* Ensuring Indigenous and frontline leadership is at the heart of
climate decision-making.

But here’s the urgent part: we need to raise $11,000 to cover the basic
costs of sending our team before the climate talks begin.

Your gift won’t just cover travel — it will provide the basics our
organizers need to do their work: food, internet, translation, and a roof
over their heads. Hotel prices in Brazil during COP30 have become
outrageous, with a simple room costing up to $3,700 per night.^1 But we
refuse to be shut out by soaring prices. We'll stay in alternative housing
and support local leaders to share their demands, because we simply cannot
afford to let rich fossil fuel lobbyists claim all the space.

[ [link removed] ]That’s why I’m writing to you today,
John. Can you chip in $5, $10, or whatever you
can so we can make sure the voices of frontline communities cannot be
ignored during these important climate talks?

I realize it might not always feel like it, but your
$10
is truly helping fight the fossil fuel industry. It's helping us push for
a fair transition to renewable energy, in which we make sure communities
are no longer exploited, but reap the benefits.

One of the most inspiring things about our climate movement is that when
every person chips in what they can, we are able to achieve what most
people think is impossible. And the time for bold action to phase out of
fossil fuels and power up renewable energies is now.

[ [link removed] ]If you can, please consider making a contribution today so we can send
campaigners to COP30. This is the opportunity to put pressure on
decision-makers to phase out all fossil fuels and set ambitious financial
commitments to fund a global transition to renewable energy.

Now is the time to show the world that people-powered climate action is
stronger than fossil fuel money. Together, we can push leaders at COP30 to
deliver real commitments to fund a just transition.

Thank you for your support.

Onwards,

Alia Kajee
