| Dear John, I’m John Vick, executive director of Concerned Veterans for America. I’m also a veteran of the Marine Corps and Navy and served in Iraq, Africa, and elsewhere around the world. Moving forward, my team and I will reach out weekly with updates on the most pressing issues our country is facing, how veteran voices can deliver solutions, and how we can shape a better American future. 💬 What’s on the table The Veterans’ ACCESS Act is the biggest veterans’ health care reform legislation in Congress. If passed, it would be a game changer by empowering veterans with more control and choice in their care. Here are the solutions the Veterans’ ACCESS Act delivers: - Expanding veterans’ access to community care beyond VA facilities would ensure the VA finally lives up to the promise of the VA MISSION Act.
- Expanding veterans’ access to timely, community-based care would ensure they’re informed about their options and can more easily get connected to mental health support.
- Expanding veterans’ ability to seek mental health and substance abuse treatment directly in their communities would remove unnecessary barriers and help them get care without waiting for VA preapproval.
🏥Tell Congress: Support veterans’ health care In a recent CVA poll, we found nearly 80% of Americans support Congress enacting community care access standards into law to guarantee veterans’ access to health care. Lawmakers should pay attention to and support the Veterans’ ACCESS Act to make sure our veterans get the health care freedom they’ve earned. 📢 Speak up Add your name to the list of Americans standing with veterans and demanding action from Washington. |
