Better, greener, fairer transport
Dear Supporter
This week we held an event in Parliament, to highlight the vital importance of transport to people's lives and the places they live.
Over 150 people joined us to discuss better, greener, fairer transport, including MPs, Department for Transport officials, and key figures from the transport industry and fellow NGOs.
These are the people who shape our transport system, and it was great to talk with them about the importance of:
- Making a success of rail reform - for passengers and the environment
- Improving local transport - we need better bus services and bus stops, and more tram networks
- Connecting communities and creating better places through better transport
- Ensuring the machinery of government is fit for purpose - so that government at all levels can make transport better.
These are the four priorities that we have just set out in our Strategy. Rather than an all-new Strategy, this is a revised and refreshed Strategy. It reflects the shifting political and technological landscape in which we are working, while restating our core mission: to advocate for better, greener, fairer transport for all.
