John, In more ways than one, many of us are fighting for our lives. Two weeks ago, the Trump Administration asked the Supreme Court to end the Affordable Care Act and wipe out health care coverage for 23 million Americans -- this is during a global pandemic that has already needlessly killed 130,000 Americans. We don’t need to wait and see to find out the deadly costs. We already know that this is reckless, cruel, and will cost lives. Our family, friends, and neighbors rely on the ACA now more than ever before. If we don’t stop this, over 23 million people could lose their health care coverage overnight. John, if you want to make sure your neighbors have quality, affordable, and accessible health care during a global pandemic, sign our petition and tell the Supreme Court to protect the ACA. The pandemic has proven just how important a comprehensive, well-funded, resilient health care system is -- and that foundation starts with quality, affordable health care coverage for all Americans. That’s why we must fix the problems of the Affordable Care Act and build upon this progress to finally fix our broken health care system. We can’t keep relying on GoFundMe sites, donation boxes at gas stations, and the random generosity of others to pay medical bills. We need to create a health care system that covers as many folks as possible; that puts efficiency, sustainability, and results over profits; and fights for the lowest possible cost of prescription drugs. But right now, we’re fighting to save the progress we’ve already made. Trump is actively trying to tear down the foundation of our health care system so we can’t deliver safety to the tens of millions of people who are counting on it. That doesn’t sit well with us. If you want to stand up to attacks on the ACA, sign our petition and tell the Supreme Court to protect our health care before it’s too late. Thank you, Team Scholten |
