Team, it’s Ed.

After we heard the news that a well-funded challenger was entering the race for Senate, I met with my team to set the course of this campaign as we prepared to both fight for victory and continue to take on Donald Trump.

We decided we had to set some ambitious fundraising goals for the months to come, because we want to invest in all kinds of new infrastructure and resources to grow this campaign and organize more people on the ground for our movement.

I made the tough call to move forward with those investments, even though right now, the money isn’t there. I know from experience that I can rely on this movement to help fill the gap with grassroots donations.

So, I met with my team again today to go over the numbers, and they showed me that we still have a bit of money to raise to meet our budget for October. According to our math, if around 230 people chipped in today we’d hit our goal before next week’s deadline.

Our average contribution is around $30. Many give less — $5, $10, even just $1. Some give more when they can afford to. All are going above and beyond to support this progressive movement.
