Hospitals and health systems are the only sites of care that provide 24/7 access to care. In the case of an emergency, hospitals and healthcare workers are ready to administer critical, life-saving care. Some in Congress are considering further cuts that would weaken Americans' access to care. These cuts would put hospitals at an increased risk of closure, or force hospitals to close needed specialty care.
