According to a new study, economic experts estimate that the average American household is losing $1,000 a year because of Trump’s tariffs. That’s right — Trump’s quixotic trade war is costing you up to $1,000 a year.
And it’s only getting worse. Trump’s imposing new tariffs on China, and tanking the stock market with haphazard tweets, and “ordering American companies to stop trading with China.” It’s madness, and it’s hurting Americans from coast to coast.
But if we’re going to put that $1,000 back in your pocket, then we need to work harder to show people from every background that Trump’s tariffs aren’t helping them keep their jobs — they’re hurting consumers, farmers, and manufacturers alike.
The President of the United States shouldn’t be making it harder for everyday people to make ends meet — but those 5%, 10%, and 15% increases add up. We can’t weaponize people who have to decide between paying the rent and groceries to try and “beat China.”
Let’s re-examine our priorities. Let’s end these endless wars, stop these massive subsidies for corporations, do away with this pointless trade war, and start investing in the American people.
In solidarity,
