We are now approaching the third week of this reckless Republican shutdown —
and the American people are paying the price.

Families are being forced to make impossible choices as healthcare premiums
skyrocket, critical services are delayed, and uncertainty spreads. All because
House Republicans would rather stage political stunts than do their jobs.

Let me be clear: this shutdown is cruel and unnecessary. I’ve called out
Republican leadership for their deliberate attacks on healthcare and their
refusal to govern responsibly. The longer this drags on, the more people suffer
— and that is unacceptable.

I’ve been on the House floor, in committees, and in meetings fighting to get
the government reopened. Because our communities deserve leadership that
delivers — not dysfunction that divides.

Today, I’ll be holding a town hall to hear directly from my constituents about
how this shutdown is affecting them — and to share why I’m fighting so hard to
get our government back to work. Your voices drive my efforts every single day.
