Have you heard about our monthly donor matching campaign? We’re recruiting 500 new monthly donors, called Life Defenders, to fuel our expansion from primarily digital activism to boots-on-the-ground, pro-life action nationwide.
John,
Have you heard about our monthly donor matching campaign?
We’re recruiting 500 new monthly donors, called Life Defenders, to fuel our expansion from primarily digital activism to boots-on-the-ground, pro-life action nationwide. I’ll share more details on that in a moment!
For a limited time, if you invest in Live Action’s life-saving mission by becoming a Life Defender, your first monthly gift will be DOUBLED thanks to a generous matching grant: give.liveaction.org/monthly-donor-campaign ([link removed] )
The latest data tells us that over 2,800 precious babies in the womb are unjustly losing their lives to abortion every day in this country. But the issues that have led to this dark reality run far deeper than the tragic final outcome.
You guys, our world is in the midst of a loneliness epidemic. Fertility rates are plummeting, close relationships between men and women are breaking down, and people are starving for purpose.
The internet is an incredible tool for changing minds and spreading truth, but as human beings, we need in-person community just as much as we need information.
Let me share two powerful examples of what I mean from this year’s Young Leaders Summit (YLS).
In an effort to bring together like-minded, pro-life people, Live Action added a speed dating event to YLS this year. It was an opportunity to practice what we preach as we shared the beauty and goodness of marriage with young adults, and for at least two individuals who met that evening, a long-term connection was formed!
Meet the happy couple: James and Emily.*
Here is an excerpt from some comments James recently shared with us:
I knew of Live Action’s heroic reputation of exposing the illegal sale of baby body parts by Planned Parenthood, as well as their excellent resources on abortion-related topics. I went to [YLS] as a representative for the BLEXIT Branch of Turning Point USA, to support Live Action in our shared goal of ending the genocide of babies.
I had never done speed dating before, and it seemed fun. It was very relieving to do speed dating in a place where you knew everyone at least loved God and was pro-life. Even still, honestly, I didn’t think that I would find someone the first try in speed dating, since I was new to it. I met [Emily], and she was the very last person I [talked with].
[Emily] reflects the Woman of Valor in Proverbs 31 in so many ways. I believe she will make an outstanding wife and an amazing mother. We have so much fun together, and I feel I can tell her anything good or bad, and she will uplift me. For anyone reading this, please pray for us to grow in holiness and virtue and to see what God has in store for us.
We’re thrilled for James and Emily and can’t wait to see what comes next for them, but they weren’t the only ones for whom YLS made a lasting impact.
You might remember the story of Natali, a post-abortive woman who didn’t realize that YLS was a pro-life event when she registered to attend. Instead of allowing fear or shame to discourage her from participating, she leaned in, and what she experienced changed her.
When she stepped up to the mic to share her story, she was met with love from the audience, not judgment. And she was given powerful advice for how she could use her experience and the regret she felt to minister to other post-abortive women.
By the end of the day, Natali was able to confidently declare that she is pro-life!
John, these two stories are just a glimpse of the impact that can be made when you help Live Action combine the power of truth and in-person connection. It’s testimonies like these that show us the culture-transforming change that can be made when we get out from behind our screens.
This is why we’re currently working to expand beyond the digital world with groundbreaking, new projects like:
- Church and university campus outreach programs, facilitating the creation of local Live Action groups as well as equipping existing pro-life groups with impactful tools,
- A renewal of the Live Action Ambassador program with a focus on grassroots pro-life activism, both in person and online,
- And an expansion of our in-person formation and training events, including the introduction of the North Star Fellowship, a program designed to help professionals in media, politics, and faith be beacons of truth in their respective fields.
But none of this growth is possible without the support of generous, pro-life individuals like you.
When you become a Life Defender (monthly donor) today with an ongoing gift of as little as $10, you are enabling both the continued creation of our mind-changing digital content and this critical, in-person expansion.
