We never expect you to make a donation every time we send an email. But when we ask for your financial support, it’s because you can help Ayanna deliver the leadership we so badly need in this country.
While Congressional Republicans have neglected their responsibilities — not showing up to work for weeks, refusing to come to the table and end the shutdown they created — here’s how Ayanna has been spending her time lately:
- She convened an emergency meeting in Boston with workers, patients, labor leaders, and advocates to sound the alarm on the harm of Republicans’ government shutdown on workers and families from the Massachusetts 7th.
- She’s amplified the voices of her constituents who are being hurt by the GOP shutdown and face skyrocketing health care costs because of Republican budget cuts.
- She called on the Trump administration to address the ongoing and unprecedented wave of student loan delinquencies and defaults.
- She introduced a bill to guarantee back pay for federal contractors, including low-wage food service and janitorial staff, after government shutdowns.
- She urged two of Massachusetts’ largest utility companies to suspend shutoffs and offer payment plans for households missing paychecks because of the shutdown — and one of those companies has already announced new support for impacted families.
- She joined her colleagues in Washington, DC to condemn Republicans for raising healthcare costs and harming women, families, and workers.
Meanwhile, Republicans have spent their time touring the new Mar-a-Lago themed patio at the White House and getting signed merch from the president.
