John Reid defended the Jan. 6 rioters. He spread election lies. He even bragged on air about punching people. It got so bad that Republican Gov. Youngkin called for him to drop out of the race.
He compared abortion to slavery and made disturbing comments suggesting women seeking care just want to "kill their baby." He wants to ban abortion in Virginia and defund Planned Parenthood.
He said "it may be time to just close the public schools" — the schools that over one million Virginia kids depend on — so he can divert Virginians' tax dollars to expensive private schools instead.
He supported slashing health care for more than 300,000 Virginians — children, veterans, seniors in nursing homes, and hard-working families already stretched thin.
And he's Trump's "yes man" through and through. Reid backed the "DOGE" cuts that will eliminate 32,000 Virginia jobs this year alone. He supports Trump's job-killing tariffs that are raising prices across the board.
But standing in his way is Ghazala Hashmi — a proven leader, educator, and champion for Virginia families who will fight for affordable health care, fully funded public schools, and an economy that works for everyone, not just billionaires.
