Three million bushels, John — that’s how many soybeans Texas farmers produced **but can’t sell** because of Donald Trump’s reckless trade war.

Trump’s tariffs are hitting Texas farmers hard. If you look ahead, the harm goes even further: Trump’s tariff-induced trade war leads to the destruction of the Amazon rainforest!

*How do Trump's tariffs put the Amazon rainforest at risk?*
China, the world’s largest soybean buyer, has retaliated to Trump’s tariffs by boycotting American soybeans, buying them instead from Argentina (which Trump is subsidizing with U.S. tax dollars) and Brazil. In Brazil, new soybean fields get carved straight out of the Amazon rainforest and other environmentally sensitive regions.

Trump's tariffs are driving a trade war that in turn is driving U.S. farmers out of business, and accelerating rainforest deforestation and global warming.

**This is what happens when leaders don’t think ahead.** Ken Paxton? **He’s not thinking at all.** He’s cheering on Trump while Texas farmers, our air, our water, and our planet pay the price.

John, if Texas farmers aren't supplying crops for the world, **someone less ethical is**. The countries taking advantage of our tariff-induced trade war have less regard for livestock, air quality, water purity, deforestation, and carbon emissions than American producers. And they have far fewer regulations or environmental protections than under American laws (wanting though they may be).

If you’re worried about global warming, you should be worried about tariffs. **The Texas Attorney General *should* be suing to stop Trump’s unconstitutional tariffs, from soybeans to steel.** But we’ll never get that kind of leadership from a Republican Attorney General who takes orders from Mar-a-Lago.
