CBO Confirms: Schumer's Shutdown Is Hurting Our Economy
The nonpartisan, independent Congressional Budget Office just confirmed the Democrat shutdown is increasing unemployment, reducing consumer spending, diminishing private-sector income, and stifling overall economic growth. Simply put, Leader Schumer and the Democrats are playing partisan games at the expense of the American people’s livelihoods.
After the House passed a clean continuing resolution, Democrats decided to shut the government down, holding our troops and vulnerable Americans hostage over absurd demands. Democrats are demanding $1.5 trillion in new spending on woke and wasteful policies—health care for illegal immigrants, DEI and Green New Deal programs, and welfare without work for able-bodied adults.
It’s time for Democrats to put the country first, do the right thing, and end the shutdown.
Democrats Have Some Explaining To Do
The longer this Schumer Shutdown drags on, the worse it gets for Americans in need. But Democrats continue to hold funding hostage because they want free health care for illegals, no work requirements for able-bodied adults, permanently subsidized health care for people making over half a million dollars, and $1.5 trillion in new spending
My question for Senator Schumer and Democrats is this: How do you explain choosing to keep this shutdown going while it cuts off the following services?
For veterans:
- Critical suicide hotline for our veterans
- Veteran transition assistance
- VA Cemetery burials
- GI Bill services
For farmers:
- Local Farm Service Agency offices
- Economic relief to farmers still recovering from four years of Biden's fiscal failure.
- Payments to farmers recovering from natural disasters
- Marketing Assistance Loans
- Farm Safety Net payments
For seniors:
- Telehealth services for Medicare beneficiaries
- Medicare's hospital-at-home program
- Funding for Rural Hospitals
- Community Health Center funding
- Payments for Safety-Net Hospitals
- Medicare card delivery
- Social Security Cost-of-Living Adjustment
Worst Of The Worst
While the radical Left in Congress and Democrat-run cities are hellbent on obstructing immigration enforcement and protecting criminals, ICE is hard at work pulling criminal illegal aliens off of our streets and out of our communities.
In Texas alone, our brave ICE officers recently took down two aliens who - despite being here illegally - had previously been convicted of serious criminal activity like sexual assault of a child and organized crime.
For four years, Biden and Democrats willfully enabled an unmitigated invasion through our southern border. Today, they refuse to stand up for American citizens and our national security - President Trump and Secretary Noem will continue to do it for them.
Restore The Rule Of Law
The Ninth Circuit just confirmed what we already knew — President Trump has every right to deploy the National Guard to protect federal officers, including ICE agents, and defend federal property from violent criminals and domestic terrorists.
Meanwhile, cities like Portland, San Francisco, and Chicago are being run into the ground by weak, woke politicians who’ve handed their streets over to leftist violent mobs. They’ve abandoned law-abiding citizens and turned their backs on public safety.
President Trump isn’t trying to run these failed cities — that’s up to their voters. But he will stand up for federal law and will stop anarchists from attacking federal buildings or assaulting law enforcement who keep this country safe.
