For people who love to call themselves ‘patriots’, MAGA Republicans don’t seem to understand the history of patriotism in this country.

In 1775, the ‘shot heard round the world’ was fired at the Battles of Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts, marking the beginning of the American Revolution and our fight for independence from a king in Britain.

So yes, Massachusetts is where revolutions are born. And no, that has nothing to do with ‘socialism’. It’s basic American patriotism.

The way this campaign sees it, Trump and the far-right architects of his federal takeovers want to make the presidency more like a dictatorship. Slashing budgets that were mandated by Congress, ignoring court orders, going around due process, cracking down on freedom of speech, weaponizing the Department of Justice, sending troops into American cities — it’s all starkly authoritarian.

The very thought of our current situation would make those American Revolutionaries sick to their stomachs, watching what is happening to the democracy and the Constitution that they fought for.

What we need now is a political revolution — not one with muskets and cannons, but a grassroots movement that will stand up to Donald Trump and MAGA extremists at every turn, using every lever of power we have to block their agenda and build public support for the fair and just future we want to see.

We can’t afford to throw our hands up and admit defeat just because Republicans have the majority in Washington. We’re calling on anyone — Democrats, Independents, and Republicans — who are willing to stand up for the Constitution to join us. Chip in $5 or whatever you can afford today and power our efforts:
