John,
Last week, I reached out to ask how rising healthcare costs are affecting you and your family. The response was overwhelming.
Here are a few stories that I heard:
“I have to spend every penny I have to purchase my medicine. I have no money left even to put gas in my car.”
“I am on 100% disability that barely covers my bills. I need to stretch out my medications the best I can because taking them as prescribed is too expensive. It is extremely dangerous because I have epilepsy.”
“Health care is turning into a series of decisions that no parent should ever have to make - choosing whether to go into debt or take a child to the emergency room.”
“As a retired couple, our out-of-pocket medical costs for 2026 will be $3292 per month, and that doesn't include prescriptions. It is a travesty.”
It’s stories like these that show just how critical our fight for affordable healthcare is amidst the government shutdown. We won’t allow Republicans to strip millions of Americans of the care they need to survive.
TAKE ACTION: Protect affordable healthcare.
