Ever since the GOP shutdown began, the government has been in chaos.
SNAP is running out of funds, federally funded organizations that provide vital services are at risk of closing their doors, and thousands of federal workers have been threatened with termination or are being furloughed.
In addition to all this uncertainty, the Affordable Care Act subsidies are still set to expire.
I’m ready to discuss protecting healthcare like the ACA subsidies with my GOP colleagues, but instead, Speaker Johnson has sent the House away again.
Instead of working on solutions to help working American families, the GOP is avoiding votes and placing blame on anyone but themselves.
I’m speaking out against this shutdown, talking to my constituents about their worries, and pushing to reopen the government.
