Hey John, Hillary here.

This week is when the House should be in Session and we should be voting, but Republicans have once again cancelled votes — giving themselves a taxpayer-funded vacation.

There is no way we’re going to come to a deal and reopen the government if they refuse to show up.

At the heart of this fight is affordability — the affordability crisis is crippling the American Dream. Health insurance premiums are set to double, or even triple, for individuals who rely on the Affordable Care Act.

Democrats are fighting to make sure we can extend the tax credits that keep health insurance for everyday Americans.

Over the summer, Republicans made tax cuts for billionaires to the tune of $700 a day. And yet, they still refuse to come to the table to talk about making health care more affordable.

I’m not giving up this fight. I will hold the line. If you’re with me, will you sign my petition and show your support for Democrats fighting for you?
