In Sudan, a humanitarian catastrophe worsens by the day, overshadowed by headlines from Gaza and Ukraine. Nicholas Kristof of The New York Times recently referred to it as the "world’s worst humanitarian crisis today."
Families are on the edge of survival after two years of brutal civil war. The toll is staggering: tens of thousands dead, over 30 million people in need of aid, 24.6 million facing severe hunger, and nearly 14 million displaced.
Famine has been declared in parts of North Darfur and South Kordofan. Cholera is quickly spreading, threatening more lives.
And, just last month, a devastating landslide in Darfur took the lives of more than 1,000 people and left more in need of emergency shelter and assistance.
We must act fast: We’ve set a goal to raise $50,000 by October 31 to deliver urgent relief to innocent civilians caught in crisis in places like Sudan, Nigeria, Ukraine, and 35+ countries. Will you help bring food, water, economic opportunity, and hope to those who need it most?
Mercy Corps is on the ground in 14 of Sudan’s 18 states, delivering lifesaving aid and laying the groundwork for long-term recovery. Our work includes:
