John,

It’s a day of good news — and bad — in the fight to stand up to MAGA.

First, the good:

More than 7 million Americans filled the streets last week for the No Kings protests — the largest peaceful demonstration in U.S. history. Across all 50 states, people marched and proved that democracy and dissent in America are alive and well.

It was a breathtaking rebuke of authoritarianism — a reminder that this country still belongs to all of us, not one man.

Now, the bad:

According to a Reuters investigation, Trump’s administration is escalating a coordinated campaign to investigate and dismantle progressive organizations — including ActBlue, Indivisible, and others that helped fuel No Kings .

We’ll share more details below. But first, here’s the truth: if MAGA succeeds in dismantling voices of dissent, they’ll leave the opposition without the tools to fight back.

Let’s be clear: these investigations are about fear. The goal is to sideline organizations like ActBlue and Indivisible — and to make another No Kings movement impossible.

It’s the same playbook we’ve seen in MAGA’s war on the free press: weaponize lawsuits to intimidate journalists, flood the airwaves with propaganda about “liberal bias,” and defund public media to eliminate any source of independent oversight.

From Trump’s billion-dollar defamation suits against major outlets to Congress slashing funding for NPR and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the strategy is clear — dismantle every institution that tells the truth and leave only MAGA-approved media standing.

Through all of that, COURIER is still standing — fearless, factual, and shining a light on MAGA’s attacks on democracy every single day.

But if we’re going to keep growing, we need your help, John.

We can’t let Trump dismantle the infrastructure of resistance. Not now. Not ever.

In solidarity,

The COURIER Team
