As the General Election heats up, we have to make sure that we know exactly what we’re up against.
I’m being challenged to a rematch by former Republican Congressman Scott Taylor -- who is one of just 21 candidates in the entire country to make it to the final stage of the National Republican Congressional Committee’s “Young Guns” program for 2020.
The NRCC only grants this status to challengers whose campaigns pose a real threat -- a “Young Gun” recently pulled off a special election win in the deep-blue state of California, costing Democrats a crucial House seat.
Taylor raised $4 million to fund his campaign in 2018 -- and as a “Young Gun”, he’ll receive a huge fundraising boost from national Republicans who are determined to take back the House. I’m counting on supporters like you -- will you chip in to make sure I have the resources to fight back?
I flipped this seat by just 2.3 points, and outside groups have already spent $500,000 on attack ads against me.
We’re fighting an uphill battle -- but I know that together, we can overcome the odds.
