t’s a rematch in Missouri’s 1st congressional district.

Justice Democrats

Breaking news, John:

Justice Democrats just made our fourth endorsement of the 2026 cycle, and she’s a familiar face: progressive champion and former Rep. Cori Bush!

Justice Democrats 2026 Endorsed: Cori Bush for U.S. Congress MO-01

Cori became the first-ever Justice Democrat in 2017 during her first campaign for Congress, and has had Justice Democrats’ support in every cycle since then.

Now, we’re proud to have Cori’s back again as she takes on AIPAC-backed Rep. Wesley Bell in a rematch for Missouri’s 1st congressional district.

Rush a split contribution of $5 or more to fuel Justice Democrats and Cori’s people-powered campaign now!

We at Team JD have proudly been with Cori since her first congressional race in 2017 because she is a fighter. Since then, she has redefined what it means to bring true urgency and power for poor and working people to Washington.

During her first run for Congress, Cori was a single mom, registered nurse, and pastor who played a pivotal role on the frontlines of the Black Lives Matter movement in Ferguson after the police killing of Michael Brown. Despite losing her first primary, she came back in 2020 to defeat an entrenched corporate incumbent, ending a 50-year political dynasty that had stopped working for the people of St. Louis.

On just her third day in Congress, she took immediate action to hold members of Congress responsible for inciting the January 6 insurrection and demanded their expulsion. In her first term, Cori exemplified a new generation of leadership, introducing visionary legislation like the Green New Deal for Cities and the People’s Response Act to transform public safety.

When the national eviction moratorium was going to expire during the COVID-19 pandemic, Cori slept on the steps of the Capitol until the Biden administration extended it. In Congress, she became one of the Democratic Party’s leading voices for abortion rights and reproductive justice, even testifying with her own abortion story in the House Oversight Committee and leading a statewide tour to educate Missourians about their abortion rights in response to the state’s extreme ban.

In the wake of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, Cori led the original Ceasefire Now resolution to demand an immediate ceasefire in Palestine, galvanizing millions across the world and an overwhelming majority of voters in the US to demand a ceasefire. Of course, that drew the attention of the powerful anti-Palestinian lobby.

Last cycle, AIPAC teamed up with corporate-aligned PACs like Crypto’s Fairshake and Reid Hoffman’s Mainstream Democrats to spend over $12 million to defeat Cori in what was the second-most expensive House primary ever. Since then, AIPAC’s brand amongst Democratic Party voters and even establishment Democrats has substantially deteriorated while they unsuccessfully try to rehabilitate their image as a pro-genocide lobby that buys politicians.

In this new environment, with the majority of Democratic voters tired of establishment elected officials like Wesley Bell giving unconditional support to a genocide, Cori and our movement can take on AIPAC and WIN this time.

At the end of the day, Cori is one of the most working-class voices we’ve had in Congress, and now more than ever, St. Louis and our nation need more voices of conscience who will stand up for what’s right for all people. That couldn’t be clearer, especially as Wesley Bell has repeatedly proven he’s willing to bend to Trump’s donors and the billionaire class that has ushered in the authoritarianism and corporate greed we see now.

Let’s come together and build the resources necessary to win this rematch next year and send Cori back to Congress: pitch in whatever you can today →
