The Clean Energy Siting Council includes representatives from13 state government entities and is co-led by the departments of Ecology and Commerce. The Council focuses on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of clean energy siting and permitting processes.
The Council’s annual report to the Governor and Legislature shares updates on Washington’s clean energy work and offers recommendations to make it easier to build clean energy and transmission projects. These recommendations were shaped by input from tribes, industry, and community members. They focus on issues such as limits in the state’s power grid, planning for new technologies, and supporting tribal clean energy projects and local government planning.
