Friend,
Have you seen Humane World for Animals’, formerly called the Humane Society of the United States, 2025 Horrible Hundred report? Every year our researchers expose 100 problem puppy mills to shed light on these cruel facilities and the need for stronger animal welfare protections. Vulnerable puppies and dogs are counting on you to fight to protect them from suffering at the hands of puppy mill operators—will you make a donation now to help us fight for these vulnerable dogs as well as all the animals that need us?

The shocking truth is that many facilities in the Horrible Hundred report are repeat offenders who have racked up numerous violations against the Animal Welfare Act for failing to provide the most basic standard of care for the dogs in their facilities. They allow serious health issues to go untreated, with contaminated water, filthy cages and little to no socialization. Worse, at least 30 of this year’s offenders have ties to the American Kennel Club!
For an organization that claims to love dogs, the AKC’s actions just don’t match up to its words. Instead, through their registrations and marketing, the AKC is providing legitimacy to these breeders while they continue to neglect and mistreat the animals in their care. The report found AKC-linked puppy mills that failed multiple state inspections, lacked veterinary oversight and had recurring critical issues that put puppies and dogs in harm’s way. Puppies are suffering from preventable infections! But these filthy and dangerous facilities keep getting away without real consequences.
The Better CARE for Animals Act and the Puppy Protection Act could go a long way to changing that. These crucial bills could help hold puppy mills regulated by the federal government accountable for animal welfare violations, raise the standards of care for puppies and dogs, and save lives. But with the AKC lobbying against these bills, we’re counting on animal advocates like you to help us fight on the side of innocent puppies and dogs.
These animals have no voice in Congress—so it’s up to us to make their case, friend. Please: Donate to Humane World Action Fund—formerly called Humane Society Legislative Fund—now to help fight for puppies, dogs and all animals who can’t fight for themselves.
