John,

We know that a majority of Americans want congressional stock trading to be a thing of the past, and we’re working to make sure our elected leaders act to do just that. Because we should be able to trust that Congress is doing what’s best for the country — not their stock portfolios.

The good news is that there’s been movement on this issue in recent months. A bipartisan group of representatives in the House introduced the Restore Trust in Congress Act, a bill that would ban members of Congress and their families from trading stocks while in office. [1]

There’s serious momentum in both chambers — and we need to capitalize on it.

Time and time again we’ve seen bills on this issue go to the wayside, which means we need to show our elected leaders that overwhelming majorities of Americans are demanding action.

It’s time for Congress to do the right thing — add your name to show them that we want them to act on a congressional stock trading ban ASAP!

Members of Congress shouldn’t be able to leverage their insider knowledge to make a profit by buying and selling stocks while in office.

Instead, Congress should be working day in and day out to act in the best interest of Americans and ensure their constituents have faith in government — not making us question where our elected leaders’ allegiance lies.

It’s time to put an end to these conflicts of interest — Congress must pass a ban on congressional stock trading.

Show Congress we want them to act on this crucial legislation — add your name now!

Your voice makes a difference,
The Issue One Action Team
