CHBA BC submitted to two government consultations – The first was the Expert Panel on Housing Supply and Affordability, a BC/Federal initiative, and the second is the BC Budget 2021 consultation. This paper builds on our existing COVID-19 recommendations and includes our longer-term objectives.

Low-interest financing for energy retrofits: Energy-efficient heat pumps

Government of B.C.

British Columbians wanting to switch from fossil fuel-based heating to cleaner, more energy-efficient heat pumps now have access to low-interest financing as part of CleanBC.

Depending on the type and efficiency of heat pump chosen by homeowners, the loans will have interest rates as low as 0% over a five-year repayment period and are being offered as an alternative to CleanBC home-heating retrofit rebates.

Resuming business operations in B.C. in a healthy and safe manner

With the recent launch of Phase 3 of the province’s Restart Plan, WorkSafeBC would like to update stakeholders on the guidance and support we’re providing to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in B.C. workplaces.

The attached document outlines some of WorkSafeBC’s recent activities, including:

- The development of a COVID-19 Safety Plan app and new resources and protocols
- Data on injured-worker claims and prevention and enforcement activities, to help track B.C.’s health and safety progress
- Premium relief for employers impacted by the pandemic
