Dear John,
The countdown has begun! Over 50 groups, including students, workers, and grassroots environmental groups, are coming together on November 15th, 1pm [[link removed]] for fast and fair climate action. We are coming together with a common purpose: that our decision-makers, who are accountable to us, need to listen to our calls for a healthy, safe and just shared-future not beholden to the pressures of the fossil fuel industry. We need to END FOSSIL POWER!
Our calls will be loud, vibrant and creative. We will capture the attention of our politicians and show them that climate action is not a nice to do, it’s imperative.
As we are preparing to come together I wanted to share some updates and ways to get involved.
👫Invite your friends, family and colleagues to join. There are lots of groups who will welcome you to walk with them. Meeting point updates will be shared along with graphics for the route in the next few weeks.
🔈🎶Meeting at the Garden of Remembrance at 1pm, where we will walk to the Dáil where we will meet together with music and hear from speakers from Ireland and abroad.
🪧🌍Prepare your signs, outfits, banners and how you’ll make some noise. Pots and pans, drums, musical instruments are a fun way of bringing the rhythm, turning up the energy to make sure we are seen AND heard!
📲You can join the WhatsApp group here [[link removed]]to keep up to date, and you can join our volunteer channels
🙋We need volunteers! Can you help get posters up in your local area? From libraries in Dungarven to schools in Donegal, we want everyone to know they are welcome!
🦺 Join as a steward, you will receive support and be briefed. Whether you are a newbie or a tenured steward please join!
We are marching for clean and renewable energy, lower energy bills, warm homes, reliable and affordable transport, clean water, a fair deal for workers and farmers—and a healthy and safe future for our children and their future families. These are the hallmarks of a thriving society and the Government must act.
For people here in Ireland, and for people in communities across the world, we demand that Ireland do its fair share and be a leader for climate action and climate justice.
See you on November 15th at 1pm!
In solidarity,
Sara
PS. Meet your TD on December 3rd at our Mass Lobby of TDs at Buswells Hotel [[link removed]]. We’ll have captured their attention with thousands on the streets at the march. Save the date.
