John,
The past several weeks have witnessed remarkable momentum, both for our campaign to win a new voice for San Francisco in Congress and the broader movement for intersectional social justice.
Yet no matter how big our progressive campaign grows, or how widely our message spreads, Nancy Pelosi’s dedication to conservative principles stays remarkably consistent!
Two news articles published just this week demonstrate the point.
The first, from The Hill, revealed
<[link removed]> how the House Armed Services Committee—led by Democrats who answer to Nancy Pelosi—rubber-stamped Trump’s $740 billion military budget.
Why is Pelosi giving Trump every Pentagon dollar he’s asked for, when 50% of Americans don’t have jobs, healthcare, or—in more and more cases—food to eat and safe places to live? There’s a mounting eviction crisis looming, which those resources could be spent to address.
Who could plausibly claim that a new strike fighter is more important than keeping millions of Americans in their homes?
Help us show Nancy Pelosi the door. Chip in now and together we’ll enact progressive policies that put people first, not regime change wars and destruction.

The second article, from Politico
<[link removed]> , uncovered something even more embarrassing for Pelosi. She claims to champion reproductive rights, yet under her leadership, the House voted to keep the Hyde Amendment, a decades-old ban on government money funding abortions.
The hard right loves the Hyde Amendment, using it as a “wedge issue” and a litmus test for their own politicians. Yet, given the chance to finally get rid of it, Pelosi chose to duck and cover, claiming the timing was wrong.
These two separate stories, appearing on two consecutive days, confirm the underlying rationale for my race to replace her. While many at first found it hard to believe, the evidence continues to mount that Nancy Pelosi is the great asset the Republican Party has in Congress.
Can you contribute to our fast-growing campaign and help defeat a 30-year career incumbent who claims to be an ally to our communities while fighting us at every turn?
<[link removed]>
To clarify: Pelosi views her job as protecting the Democratic Party’s conservative flank from the GOP. That’s bad enough, without the further failure of adopting its policy framework as a (weak, ineffective, and ultimately counterproductive) tactic.
My job is to represent San Francisco unapologetically. I’m looking forward to doing exactly that, after we liberate our city’s seat in the House this November.
You’re not going to want to miss the chance to be a part of this!
Thanks for standing with us,
Shahid
