Dear Democrats,
One of the things I ran in the Chair's race for DPNM was making sure every county in New Mexico has a local Democratic Party chapter. Since then, we've been hard at work identifying potential members, spreading the word, and holding elections for new county party leadership.
I've learned that organizing a county party takes a lot of work, but I am blessed to be joined in these efforts by party members like Vice Chair Cam Crawford, Congressional District One Vice Chair Beau Sandoval, and Steve Duffy in southern New Mexico.
I am pleased to announce that our determination and work is paying off! Today, the Democratic Party of New Mexico announced the establishment of a local chapter in Sierra County. Sierra County isn't the only place where DPNM is establishing a new Democratic Party chapter. This year, DPNM has established or made progress on establishing county parties in all 6 out of the 33 New Mexican counties that had no local party in place last year.
DPNM established local chapters in Catron County in March and De Baca County in July. Work is in progress to establish chapters in the three counties that did not have a local Democratic Party chapter at the start of the year: Harding, Guadalupe, and Hidalgo.
Having a party apparatus in every county is crucial to our success. It allows us to have a voice in every county. Just as important, it allows every county to have a voice in our party. With so much at stake in 2026, building our structure in every county is mission critical.
But we're still working to build up our structure in Hidalgo, Harding, and Guadalupe counties and keep our Party strong everywhere else. Can you support our efforts in organizing these counties? Even a few dollars helps pay for gas, venues to hold the meeting, or send texts to Democrats. [[link removed]]
The fact of the matter is that fundraising has been slow this year. We’re already looking at areas where we need to scale back our 2026 statewide campaign operations. But scaling back is not an option. There’s too much on the line.
If you can contribute to support DPNM, please consider making a monthly recurring donation. These small contributions make a huge difference in our ability to maintain our staff and party building operations. Without support from everyday Democrats like you, DPNM simply wouldn't exist.
