Sen. Jeff Merkley of Oregon just stepped off the Senate floor after speaking for 23 hours in solidarity with the American people against Trump and congressional Republicans as they drag us further into authoritarianism and refuse to end the government shutdown.
Right now, we need our climate and democracy champions standing stronger than ever, and Sen. Merkley is doing just that. Now, we need to thank him for his brave demonstration against corruption from both the Trump administration and congressional Republicans.
