Movement family,
I’m so grateful that you’re here in this community — because it shows me that you give a damn.
You give a damn about your neighbors, you give a damn about our democracy, and you give a damn about defying dictators.
You refuse to be silent, complicit, or indifferent to the suffering of our neighbors, to the degrading of our democracy, to a politics of retribution and revenge, and to racist, rogue, and lawless acts of a hostile government.
If you've stored your info with ActBlue Express, we'll process your contribution instantly:
I’m sure that right now, like me, you are tired. Tired of people who speak with a mouthful of scriptures but carry a heart of hate.
You're tired of people who don't see all the children as all our children, from Boston, to Gaza, to Haiti, to the Sudan, to the Congo, and to Israel.
You're tired of people that are more afraid of diversity, equity, and inclusion than a dictatorship.
You're tired of a government that defines efficiency by making people sicker, poorer, hungrier, and less safe.
I know I'm tired. I'm tired as a Black woman of people who think attacks on Black bodies, on Black leaders, on Black votes, on Black women, on Black power, and Black progress are ours fight to fight alone.
You're tired of people who are callous enough to create work requirements for hungry people to eat, but they won't show up to work to end a government shutdown.
You're here because you're tired, but we draw strength from one another, from community, from this movement.
We will resist. We will agitate. We will organize. We will mobilize. Because we know another world is possible. One that chooses people over profit, diversity over nationalism, peace over war, hope over fear, love over hate, and freedom over fascism.
Thank you for giving a damn.
In solidarity,
Ayanna
