We've seen a lot of confusion about the Government Shutdown, so we wanted to address our most frequently asked questions:


❓ What is a Government Shutdown?

The Government shuts down when Congress fails to allocate the money to fund all of our government agencies. This means thousands of federal workers are being furloughed or forced to work without pay.


❓ Who will this Government Shutdown hit the hardest?

John, there are almost 30,000 federal workers in Kansas impacted by the shutdown alone, and that doesn't include the folks who are going to need help signing up for social security, veterans benefits, or other lifesaving programs during this period.

❓ When is the Government Shutdown ending?


Unfortunately, we don't know. Republicans like our Congressmen are hell-bent on raising millions of Americans healthcare premiums next year, and they are refusing to negotiate to get the votes they need to fund the government.

❓ What can we do about it?

Right now, it's time to put pressure on our elected officials and let them know that their reckless decisions WILL have consequences at the ballot box.
