 Hi, John, This last month of electoral work has been a rollercoaster ride and now we are only days away from the primary runoff election in Texas, where we can help power Green New Deal champion Mike Siegel to victory. His experience as a civil-rights attorney and public school teacher inspired him to run for office and we need that kind of leadership in Congress. Right now, Texas is at the crossroads of so many intersecting crises. Oil and gas extraction are fueling ever-increasing climate disasters. Racist policing and a broken immigration system threaten Black and immigrant Texans everyday. And with COVID spiking across the state, hundreds of thousands are out of work and hospitals are struggling to stay afloat. Texas needs leaders who believe a better world is possible and have the bold vision to get us there. Mike Siegel is one of those leaders. He’s built a powerful multiracial coalition across rural and urban communities on an unapologetically progressive platform. He’s earned the endorsement of Bernie Sanders, Dolores Huerta, and the Texas AFL-CIO, the largest union in the state. And in the last few weeks, he has marched in the streets with his family in support of Black lives.
