And now, 29 days after winning her special election with 70% of the vote, Speaker Johnson still won’t swear Adelita Grijalva into the House of Representatives.

But this is not just about Adelita.
This is about the more than 800,000 people in southern Arizona — veterans, seniors, teachers, students — who do not have anyone to call in an emergency because their duly elected representative is being denied her seat by Speaker Johnson and the House GOP.
But Adelita isn’t backing down. Yesterday — alongside Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes — Adelita filed a lawsuit against the House and Speaker Johnson’s unlawful interference in delaying her constitutional right to take office.
