Hey John,
I’m writing to you as part of Resource Generation’s membership team. My work is to support young people of wealth who are choosing to step off the sidelines and into organizing — to defect from the 1% and to resource the movements that can carry us all toward freedom.
We already know what we’re up against: a ruling class working overtime to hoard wealth and consolidate power. But here’s what I want you to remember: we are not powerless, and we are not alone. Hope isn’t naïve. As Mariame Kaba teaches us, hope is a discipline. It’s something we practice together when we choose courage over comfort and redistribution over hoarding.
For 30 years, Resource Generation has been organizing wealthy class traitors to transform excess wealth into collective power. Again and again, I’ve seen what happens when people choose courage: abortion funds resourced, solidarity economy projects sustained, divestment campaigns powered, cross-class movements strengthened.
That’s what this moment demands. History shows us that when people come together in solidarity, our odds of winning skyrocket. The question isn’t whether movements can win – it’s who will be part of the story of movements’ victory. Will you put your time, energy, and resources into being part of that story?
Here’s how to step in now:
Immediate Calls to Action
[[link removed]] The Way Through is Together: A Wealthy Class Traitor’s Guide to Solidarity Under Fascism - A Mass Call [[link removed]]
Thursday November 6, 7-8:30 ET/ 4-5:30 PT
We’re living in a moment where the government is targeting social movements and harming our friends and neighbors. As young people with wealth, we receive messages that we’ll stay safe by staying on the sidelines– but at Resource Generation, we know that true safety comes from defecting from the systems of extraction and white supremacy that uphold fascism and building something new together. This call is an open invitation to build community, ask honest questions, and learn how multiracial young people with wealth can take bold, collective action. Together, we’ll explore what it looks like to join cross-class movements, get support to make a giving commitment, and root ourselves for the journey ahead.

The ruling class has its plan: protect wealth, protect power, protect themselves. This Fall Drive is about us proving we have ours: defecting, redistributing, and building solidarity across class lines.
From Gaza to the U.S. South, movements are showing us what courageous resistance looks like. My own lineage carries forward the words: Inquilab Zindabad – Long Live the Revolution. This Fall Drive is our chance to mean it – with money, with membership, with solidarity that refuses to wait.
In solidarity,
Amrit K.
Membership Manager
