If you want an indication of what we’re up against this year, take a look at what’s going on in the Republican primary:

A shady, out-of-state group just spent $137,114 in support of one of our potential opponents. This comes after hundreds of thousands of dollars from similar groups have already been spent in that race.

It’s clear that our opponents are dependent on special interest and dark money groups to bankroll their campaigns. We’ve seen shadowy groups like this spend huge sums before, and it’s only going to increase as we transition to the general election next week.

We need to fight back if we want to keep this race competitive, but we’ve made a commitment to run a truly grassroots campaign here in the Second District.
