The House has not been in session for over a month.

While families across the country are working hard to make ends meet — including many government workers going without pay — House Republicans have been on a taxpayer-funded vacation for more than a month.

Speaker Mike Johnson and his caucus have abandoned their jobs. Instead of working across the aisle to lower costs, strengthen our democracy, or protect our freedoms, they’ve chosen to sit on their hands and let partisan gridlock grind Congress to a halt.

I ran for Congress to deliver results for West Michigan and to make government work for the people again. But I can’t do that if Republican leadership refuses to even show up.
