Friends,
Every man, woman and child in Gaza is dependent on humanitarian aid to survive right now – and despite the ceasefire, it’s still going to take months of persistent effort to get the humanitarian situation in Gaza to a point that anyone could deem “acceptable.”
Toddlers are still suffering from acute malnutrition. Doctors lack essential supplies. There isn’t enough shelter or clean water. Women are being forced to give birth in unimaginable conditions.
The ceasefire offers hope, but there must also be follow through.
Our Jewish values teach us that there can be no excuse for punishing the innocent, yet the Netanyahu government has continued to use aid access as a bargaining chip – tightening and releasing the flow in an effort to influence Hamas.
This must end. Aid must flow freely. Restricting lifesaving supplies is a moral stain that betrays our Jewish values. No more lives should be lost to this horrific war.
At J Street, we’re determined to keep up the pressure and ensure the most vulnerable are not paying the price. We can’t put our faith in the Trump Administration to hold focus. We must keep up the pressure.
Tell Congress: No Excuses. Aid Must Flow Freely.

Friends, the ceasefire itself remains under tremendous pressure.
Over the weekend, two Israeli soldiers were killed in an apparent Hamas attack, prompting a wave of retaliatory strikes that killed dozens of Palestinians. Following US pressure – and Hamas distancing itself from the incident – the truce has thankfully been restored.
The US, regional partners and the international community must continue to exert tremendous pressure to see this deal through: To stabilize Gaza, disarm Hamas, return hostage remains, and hammer out withdrawal agreements as rebuilding gets underway.
This is urgent work. 1.5 million people in Gaza rely on emergency shelter. More than half the hospitals are out of action. Over 98% of agricultural land in Gaza is damaged or inaccessible. Fewer than half of people in Gaza have enough clean water. Over 100,000 young children and breastfeeding mothers continue to suffer from acute malnutrition.
Friend: Please join us in keeping up the focus on the catastrophic humanitarian crisis – and pressing the Netanyahu government to follow through on its ceasefire commitments and allow full, unrestricted aid access. Add your name now »
Thank you, sincerely, for your ongoing focus.
Sincerely,
Lily Adelstein
Deputy Director of Government Affairs
