As if random lawless attacks from Donald Trump weren't enough, the Supreme Court is now preparing to do Trump’s bidding, negating the Voting Rights Act and wiping away hard-earned Black representation in Congress.

These attacks on civil and human rights know no boundaries and I can’t sit back and just watch it happen. We need a voice in Congress who will stand up for our city and represent our values.

I am running for Congress to fight for you.  I am a fifth-generation Washingtonian who grew up without financial privilege sweeping floors in my neighborhood barber shop. I worked my way up through DC government to serve my city on the DC Council through perseverance, overcoming personal challenges, and understanding what it means to live DC values.

Prior to being elected to the Council—I worked side by side with Congresswoman Norton on her staff and I know not only how to fight for DC, but how to authentically represent the civil rights and human rights championed by her.

Some of my opponents in this race have great wealth, Mar-a-Lago connections and affluent networks to draw easy money from. But I have something different and more valuable. I have you. Together, we will stand up for the city I grew up in and the 700,000 of us who love DC and call it home.
