Dear Friends and Colleagues,
A government shutdown is not good for anyone, especially the American people. While the government’s lights are off, energy projects and energy infrastructure of all types are stalled. As the shutdown drags on, we are hearing from industry leaders and stakeholders throughout the energy sector about the growing impacts being felt.
Over the last few years, Congress has stepped up repeatedly to keep the government open by passing clean, bipartisan continuing resolutions (CR). The current House-passed CR has bipartisan support in the Senate yet continues to be blocked by a minority of Senators.
Unleashing American energy dominance requires all hands on deck, including federal government actions to remove obstacles, reshore supply chains, develop and deploy innovative technologies, and make American energy more abundant and affordable.
A continued government shutdown not only hurts our ability to advance American energy and meet growing demand, but it also continues us down the path of increased reliance on foreign adversaries.
CRES is working to find and move policies that support our energy ecosystem and ensure we have the resources for tomorrow. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you’d like to work together as we monitor the ongoing shutdown and advocate for a swift resolution.
