🚨North Carolina just passed another extreme, gerrymandered map
Power our fierce resistance to attacks on voters:🚨

Team,

North Carolina’s legislature just forced through another extreme gerrymandered map — making the Tar Heel State the latest to bow to Trump’s authoritarian campaign to cheat in the 2026 midterms.

Let’s be clear: North Carolina was already a gerrymandered state before this latest map. North Carolina used to have a 7-7 seat split between Democrats and Republicans as recently as 2022. But after Republicans manipulated district lines in 2023, that split went to 10-4 in favor of Republicans.

This new map would widen the partisan divide even further in a highly competitive 50-50 state, and it dismantles a district where voters of color have historically been able to be fairly represented.

Our work has never been more vital. The NDRC is working in every state Trump is trying to gerrymander to ensure these power grabs backfire and to stop the next one in its tracks. We’re fighting to send a message loudly and clearly that every politician who silences voters will be held accountable at the ballot box.

We’re far past the point of sounding the alarm for democracy. Each day, this fight multiplies, and we need your help to rapidly scale up our response to these escalating attacks to take power away from voters. Rush in your donation to power the critical work of the fair maps movement today >>

We know this is part of Trump’s wide-ranging and fast-moving campaign to consolidate his power and insulate himself from accountability.

In August, Texas Republicans took an unprecedented step and followed Trump’s orders to pass a gerrymandered map that could allow the GOP to steal five seats.

In September, Missouri Republicans forced through their own gerrymander trying to dismantle a seat held by one of the state’s only Democrats.

And now, in October, North Carolina Republicans followed suit, attempting to steal seats for Trump after they apparently accepted endorsements from him. As we write this, the administration is trying hard to get Kansas and Indiana to be the next to do their bidding.

The bottom line is: Republicans are abusing their power to take away voters’ voices. They’re doing it because they know their platform is unpopular and the American people will hold them accountable in a fair election — so they don’t want the next election to be fair.

We have to send a clear message that these power grabs will backfire. Help us fight back on multiple fronts and in multiple states to preserve our democracy: [[link removed]]

Thank you for supporting this fight — we can’t do any of our work without you.
