When my father was 56, he lost his job — and with it, our family’s health insurance. Then, just one month before my mom qualified for Medicare, she suffered a major heart attack.

We almost lost our home trying to pay the hospital bills.

That experience changed my life. It showed me just how devastating it can be when families are left without affordable health care — and it’s why I’ve made this fight personal.

Today, 85,000 Nevadans are at risk of losing the Affordable Care Act tax credits that help them afford coverage. Without action, health care costs could skyrocket for working families across our state.

I know what’s at stake because I’ve lived it. No one should have to choose between paying their bills and getting the care they need. That’s why I’m working across the aisle to extend these ACA tax credits and keep health care affordable for every Nevadan.

But I can’t do it alone. Our end-of-month fundraising deadline is fast approaching, and we need the resources to fight back against attacks on affordable care — and make sure every Nevadan’s voice is heard in Washington.
