Indivisibles,
We won’t get tired of saying it: No Kings Day was historic. We made Saturday the largest single-day of protest in US history and sent a powerful message to the regime, its enablers, and those who’ve been on the sidelines looking for some hope: The resistance to Trump is powerful. It is growing. And together, we will win.
Of course, we know a single day of protest will not overcome the fascist onslaught we face. It’s going to take sustained action of all kinds -- demonstrations, pressure on public officials, wielding our power as consumers, and more -- to deliver us from tyranny.
On last night’s call with our No Kings partners, we laid out the next steps for how we will continue to grow this movement, build on the momentum from Saturday, and create a nationwide culture of defiance. In a moment, we’re going to ask you to pitch in to support this work (if you’re ready, you can do so here), but we want to be clear about Indivisible’s role in this moment and what we’re asking you to help fund.
Your donations will support concrete actions that bring more people into the opposition, defend our communities, and help minimize the harm being done by the regime as much as we can. That work includes:
🔋Channeling the energy from No Kings: We already have dozens of new Indivisible groups that have formed just in the last week, and hundreds of thousands of new people who are joining this movement -- many of whom are brand new to organizing. Through trainings, grants, and staff support, we’re making sure new groups get established, existing groups continue to grow, and new Indivisibles have the tools and resources they need to build political power in communities across the country.
💪 Pushing elected leaders to be fighters: Elected Democrats are finally taking up the fight -- but it didn’t happen without a ton of grassroots pressure. We’re demanding Democrats, at every level of government, use every tool available to them to resist the regime. From the healthcare fight in Congress, to redistricting battles in the states, to local mayors and city councils responding to ICE raids and military occupation, we’re organizing to make sure Democrats hold the line.
🏙️ Defending our communities: Indivisibles are on the front lines responding to authoritarian overreach in our communities. They’re sharing know your rights cards with their neighbors, holding weekly demonstrations, and rallying local businesses, organizations, and leaders to join the opposition. We’re providing them with organizing support and helping groups coordinate across cities to share lessons and tactics.
❌ Courage over capitulation: We’ve seen law firms, universities, businesses, and TV networks cave to the regime’s pressure. Indivisibles are leveraging their power as alumni, members of professional associations, consumers, and subscribers to push these institutions from capitulation into non-cooperation with the regime. This work includes helping groups design their own targeted campaigns, as well as launching nationwide, rapid response actions like our effort to get Jimmy Kimmel back on air.
As the Trump regime ramps up their attacks on our democracy, we need to use every tool we have to fight back, including mass demonstrations, economic tactics, mutual aid, grassroots pressure campaigns, and more. Indivisible was made for this kind of organizing, but we can’t do it without you. Please pitch in to help us build on the momentum from Saturday, grow this movement, and save our democracy.
