Hey team,
We’re on week 4 of the government shutdown.
Our servicemembers have stopped being paid, folks across the country are losing access to services they rely on, and hundreds of thousands of government employees are furloughed or working without pay – including air traffic controllers and teachers on military bases.
And through all of this, has Derrick Van Orden been helping his constituents, connecting them to resources, or advocating for us?
No.
In fact, Rep. Mark Pocan, who represents nearby WI-02, has been doing townhalls in our district. He’s been answering questions from folks about the shutdown, ICE, and upcoming legislation that could affect farmers and the dairy industry.
I also have been available in our district: I did a volunteer barista shift a couple weekends ago, and for over two hours I was publicly available to answer questions about the City or my Congressional stances.
One thing is clear: Derrick Van Orden is not doing enough in this time of need. He’s not even doing the bare minimum of his job.
We deserve accessibility and accountability from the people elected to represent us.
Would you add your name to tell Derrick Van Orden to do his job, fund healthcare, open the government, and be accessible and accountable to our community?
