It's Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes. Last night I went on Jen Psaki's show on MSNBC to share an important update:
Yesterday, my office filed a lawsuit against Speaker Mike Johnson for refusing to swear in Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva.
I told Jen exactly what's happening: 813,000 Arizonans in Arizona's 7th Congressional District are being taxed without representation. Arizona voters elected Adelita on September 23rd. Her election was certified. She has her certificate of election. And almost a month later, Mike Johnson still hasn’t done anything.
This is the same Mike Johnson who swore in two Florida Republicans during pro forma sessions in April, but refuses to apply the same standard for an Arizona Democrat. He's denying an entire congressional district its constitutional right to representation in order to protect powerful people from accountability.
Well, I won’t stand for it.
