This is outrageous.
Speaker Mike Johnson is refusing to swear in Arizona Democrat Adelita Grijalva, even though she was elected by the voters, certified by the state, and is ready to serve.
Why the delay? Because, as Adelita said herself:
“Let’s just be really clear, if I were a Republican, I would have already been sworn in.”
And here’s the part they’re really afraid of: Adelita would be the 218th signer on a petition to force a vote on investigating Jeffrey Epstein, something MAGA Republicans are desperately trying to bury because they could implicate President Trump.
So instead of respecting voters, the GOP is playing games with democracy. Again.
