| Labour has talked about a reset, but so far it’s mostly just talk. Remember in May, they announced both a Youth Mobility Scheme and a Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) agreement for food exports? Both things that Liberal Democrats have been advocating for years. But five months later, they still haven’t materialised.
This is far too urgent. With anaemic economic growth, and families and pensioners facing a cost-of-living crisis, we need real action to rebuild trade and boost the economy now.
And what would make the biggest difference? Fixing our broken relationship with Europe.
Liberal Democrats have set out a bold and comprehensive plan to do just that: forming a new UK-EU Customs Union by 2030, setting us back on the path to the Single Market, and putting the UK at the heart of Europe once again.
Today I challenged the Prime Minister to back that plan, but he refused. So we need to turn up the pressure.
Please help do that, by signing our petition and sharing it with friends and family. |
