There are few things I enjoy more than the fight of a good campaign — but watching the progress that comes after these hard-fought campaigns is even better.

In Colorado, our alum State Representative Leslie Herod pushed for legislation that will impact generations to come through the Child College Savings Account Bill. This bill incentivizes the creation of a college savings account for every child born in Colorado.

This bill will allow thousands of Coloradans access to afford college. We’re asking our network to sign on as citizen co-sponsors of this bill to expand access to higher education. Add your name here >>

More and more local governments are being pressured to invest in education and move away from the massive spending around the school to prison pipeline.

In Colorado and so many other states, studies have shown if you have even just between $100 and $500 dollars in a savings account, you’re far more likely to go to college.

We’re proud that alums like Rep. Leslie Herod are leading the charge on these public mandates, and as more states reprioritize their spending, we must lift up our alums who are leading in the fight for justice.
