Hello,

The national fight over Confederate statues has come to the United States Capitol building, and the Confederacy has GOP allies on its side.

House Democrats are pushing to get Confederate statues out of the Capitol building. But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is standing in the way, saying that each state who donated the statues should get to decide if their monuments to slavery can remain in the building where our nation’s laws are written.

That’s right. Mitch McConnell, a leading voice within the GOP, is calling for individual states to decide if the Confederacy belongs in our federal chambers. In 2020. Considering the Right’s reluctance to tackle the issue of racial justice, this should not surprise anybody. Tell us:

Do you approve of Mitch McConnell?
