The No Kings rallies across the country this weekend were a reminder of why we’re all in this fight: we refuse to let authoritarianism take firm hold in America.
As I said on stage [ [link removed] ] in Atlanta: Our country’s at a crossroads — some people are choosing the path of control and exclusion, but we’re choosing the path of democracy, where everyone counts. The America we’re fighting for is one that sees all of us, serves all of us, and stands for all of us.
Here’s what else I’ve been up to:
I wrote a piece with Esosa Osa for The Guardian about how efforts to roll back diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives are part of a coordinated campaign by U.S. leaders to erase Black history, undermine the progress of Black Americans, and threaten the broader health of American democracy.
I talked with Tim Dickinson at Rolling Stone about how DEI is critical to resisting Trump’s authoritarian takeover and protecting democracy.
I spoke with Hanna Rosin from Radio Atlantic about what an America without the Voting Rights Act would look like, and what it could mean for Black voters, democracy, and control of Congress.
