John,
This is the first email you’ve ever received from me — but it won’t be the last. I just started as Vice President of Development at LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, and I’m thrilled to be here.
I’ve always believed deeply in the mission of electing LGBTQ+ leaders, and now I get to share with you why this work matters so much — from the inside.
Here’s what I want you to know about Victory Fund:
A dollar donated to Victory Fund is one of the best dollars you can spend. We identify and support courageous LGBTQ+ candidates who are running in some of the toughest races in the country. We think strategically about what it takes to win, and we aren’t afraid of a fight when our rights and freedoms are on the line.
We’re with our candidates every step of the way. From the first conversation about running all the way to Election Day – Victory Fund is there. We provide tools, resources, and guidance so LGBTQ+ candidates can win.
It’s about representation and policy. When LGBTQ+ voices are missing from legislative chambers, our community is more vulnerable to attacks. But when our candidates win, they bring experience and courage to the fight — helping block anti-LGBTQ+ bills and advance equality at every level. Representation changes policy, and it changes lives.
We invest at every level of the ballot. From city councils to Congress, state legislatures to governorships, Victory Fund is building a pipeline of LGBTQ+ leaders who can change the face of politics. Every win matters.
And most importantly: we take your support seriously. Victory Fund has always honored the trust of its donors. Every dollar we raise goes directly into building power and electing candidates who will stand up for our community.
That’s why I’m asking: Will you join me today by making a contribution to Victory Fund? Election Day is less than 15 days away. The need has never been greater, and your support will directly help elect LGBTQ+ leaders who can make history.
Thanks for all you do,
Ben Dotson
